About a Venezuelan Young Man's Attempt to Use a Torn Bill
Every time we receive a bill, we look closely at the details to make sure they're not fake. But we also don't accept them if they're torn. For this reason, a young man from Venezuela tried his luck and went viral on social media.
Juan Carlos Pareces
Juan Carlos Pareces had 10 soles in his hands, but it had a small cut in the middle. So he went to different stores to exchange it for other coins or an intact bill.

"Currently in Peru, it is quite normal to pay with cash. But for some reason, it is very difficult for any local vendor to accept torn, scratched, or wrinkled bills. I visited several places in Lima and unfortunately none of them accepted my bill, not even my fellow Venezuelans," he said.
In the end, he had no choice but to go to a branch of the Banco de la Nación to find a solution. There, he was given a new bill without any problems. For this reason, he shared his experience on his TikTok account called "Peruzolanisimo".
Immediately, it garnered thousands of views and countless comments. "It's ignorance, all bills are valid as long as the serial numbers are there," "Put tape on it," "I accept them without any problems," "I don't think any country accepts torn bills," some wrote.
