Undoubtedly, poor results become a cause of problems for any football club and Sport Boys is going through a delicate moment in the Opening Tournament: the rosados are in second to last place in the standings, with eight points and only two wins in the season; moreover, they haven't won in the last six matches. This whole situation led to the dismissal of Guillermo Sanguinetti as the head coach of the main team.
"Club Sport Boys Association informs its fans, media, and the general public that, by mutual agreement, Guillermo Sanguinetti will no longer lead the first team," the statement published through the club's social media networks states.
The pink institution's letter adds that "the administration appreciates the coach and coaching staff for their professionalism in the most difficult moments and wishes them luck in their future projects. Coach Juan Alayo will take on the role of interim head coach."
Juan Alayo will take charge of the main team for now until a replacement is found. The head coach returned to the pink entity to take over the youth divisions. However, given the current context, he will assume the role left by the Uruguayan strategist.
The present of Sport Boys
The pink team hasn't won a game since March 17, when they defeated Deportivo Garcilaso 2-1. After that match, they lost to Alianza Atlético, Atlético Grau, Deportivo Municipal, Universitario de Deportes, and César Vallejo. The only draw was against Sporting Cristal.
