Messi and his second Laureus Award
It is the second time that Leo, the 35-year-old player, has won a Laureus. The first one he obtained was in 2020, an award that he shared with British Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton at the time.
Messi receives this award alongside his return to training with Paris Saint-Germain, after being sidelined for a week as punishment for not showing up for training on May 1, when he traveled to Saudi Arabia with his family for business reasons.
In this awards ceremony, the 'Pulga' surpassed renowned names such as Rafa Nadal, Kylian Mbappé, and Stephen Curry. The player from Rosario, who also surpassed Dutch driver Max Verstappen, arrived at the Pavillon Vendome in Paris accompanied by his wife Antonella Roccuzzo.
