It has been 9 years of experience in the business, the flavor and style is something that has given them a particular seal among their clients, who at first, arrive looking for the experience and fall in love with what they find.
Tacos de pastor del Rica are the business that Mexican boxer Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez and his brother "Rica" started and that today is about to expand to the United States, curiously, due to the need of the boxer to try some good tacos in the American union.
In an interview with Milenio, Ricardo Álvarez talked about what this business means to the family and the impact it has had since its opening.
"Many people have come out of curiosity to try the tacos, but once they taste the product they leave fascinated, it's a type of pastor that can't be found anywhere else. Many people asked us about my brother's caps and other things like that, so we put them on sale, but there are many things that people can be satisfied with. We opened in December 2014, almost 8 years. The pastor taco is what people look for the most, everything is about the product, quality, but the specialty, which is what people look for, is the pastor," he said.
What is the reason for opening a branch in the United States?
"In the United States, there is no product like here, the idea of most people is that tacos are bad, it is what can be offered over there, but we want to undertake and be different from others, as close as possible to what Mexican tacos are," he explained.
How did the idea come about?
"The idea is to grow there, we will start in San Diego. One day, my brother told me 'we should open a business here, there are no good tacos'. He was craving for them and there were none, so I told him let's put them and that's how it will start. The idea is in San Diego because he lives there, we already have the place and we are about to, the idea is to expand, Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas," he said.
