Both fighters will face each other on July 30th in the main event of UFC 201, which will take place at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
The champion will enter his third title defense with a streak of five consecutive victories against some of the best fighters in the division. His most recent victories were against Rory MacDonald, in a championship war considered one of the best in history, and against Carlos Condit, a fight that also had the title on the line and was considered one of the best of 2016 to date.
The challenger will enter this fight after a year and a half without competing since defeating Kevin Gastelum in January 2015 and not being able to face Johny Hendricks in October of the same year, because this fighter did not make weight.
Unofficial sources indicate that Tyron Woodley refused to face any other fighter who was not the champion.
