Alliance Lima, Universitario, Sporting Cristal, FBC Melgar, and Universidad Cesar Vallejo continue on their path in the international club tournaments this 2023, hoping to accumulate the highest number of points both at home and abroad.

Countless clubs from our country have played the Copa Libertadores or the Copa Sudamericana at least once and have achieved good results in these competitions; but has anyone ever wondered in which South American countries our representatives have won on occasion?

Here the statistical data comes into play and it is surprising that a select group of nine is included in the list of those who have managed to win in more than one nation at the Conmebol level (including ours), a ranking led by the three most popular teams in Peru.

Which Peruvian team has won in the most South American countries?

According to history, Universitario has managed to win in almost all countries in the region except one, more precisely Colombia. In addition, the 'cremas' are the only ones who have achieved a victory in Brazil and no one surpasses them in this regard.

In second place is Sporting Cristal (7), who only needs to win in Brazil, Uruguay, and Colombia. One place below is Alianza Lima (6), which is one of the few national teams that have never won in Venezuela, in addition to the Brazilian, Uruguayan, and Ecuadorian countries.

Melgar (6) completes the top positions on the list, but hopes to soon secure three points in the following places: Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador, and Chile.

Cienciano (4), Cusco FC (3), Juan Aurich (2), Sport Huancayo (2), and Universidad San Martin (2) are the others who have won in some territory in South America.

What teams will be able to add another country to their list?

In reality, all of them. The 'U' will visit Bogota in two weeks and if they win, they would be the only ones to check off all of South America. Cristal and Alianza Lima will go to Brazil, as will Vallejo, but adding Ecuador and Chile; and Melgar will do the same in Argentina.
