The Peruvian gastronomy
It is known that Peruvian food is recognized as one of the best in the world, not only by international competitions, but also by every tourist who tries our variety of foods and flavors. However, it seems that this fact is indifferent to a Spanish person who has become viral in a Tiktok video, as he not only ignores our immense and rich gastronomy, but also dares to mock the Peruvians by mentioning that we eat pigeons.
The TikToker Elgingerrr (@elgingerrr), who has almost 100 thousand followers and is dedicated to creating debates between different countries about various talents or characteristics, promoted a dispute between a Spanish person and a Peruvian by asking which cuisine is better. Immediately, the Peruvian responded that the food from our country is better, however, and with much more emphasis, the Spanish person asserted that the cuisine of his nation is superior.
The European began to mention the most outstanding dishes of his country such as paella, tortilla de patatas, and finally, ham, while the Peruvian just smiled. When it was his turn to mention Peru's flagship dishes, the Spanish person did not hesitate to interrupt him and enthusiastically mention that we eat pigeons, followed by laughing abruptly about it.
After the Spanish person finished making fun of what supposedly Peruvians eat, the interviewer took the microphone and defended Peruvian food by saying that in his opinion and palate, the dishes from our country are better than the Spanish ones. He also asked the Iberian to be honest, however, he did not change his mind and continued to assert that the cuisine of his country is better.
Fun comments on social media
In the video that surpasses 250 thousand views, the criticisms from users trolling the Spanish person and defending the national food have not been long in coming. "I'm from Colombia but Peruvian food is among the best in the world", "Is ham a dish?", "Peruvian food is incredible", "The comparison is offensive", were some of the comments.
