Blues and pinks will face each other on Friday, April 14th, for the twelfth matchday of the Apertura Tournament. In the midst of this, we take a look back at their recent encounters.

Sporting Cristal will host Sport Boys this Friday, for matchday 12 of the Apertura Tournament. The rimense team has remained undefeated so far in the local championship -currently in fourth place, with 16 points- and the goal is to stay in the fight among the top positions. And while the challenge is great for Tiago Nunes' squad, as they are also playing in the group stage of the Copa Libertadores, they are clear that the mission at the Alberto Gallardo Stadium is to add three points. Now, they will face 'Misilera', who will go all out to move up from the bottom positions.

And it's not looking good for the pink team coming into this match. They have accumulated three consecutive defeats and are currently in 16th place in the standings. Although it is not the best position, the 'chalacos' know that a single result can help turn their fortunes around in the competition, especially with the end of the Apertura Tournament approaching. But what has been the history between both institutions?

In the last 10 matches between Sporting Cristal and Sport Boys, there is a clear advantage for Sporting Cristal, with a total of seven victories. The last of these wins was in the Clausura Tournament, in mid-October, when the rimense team won 5-3.

Meanwhile, 'Misilera' has not achieved any victories against Sporting Cristal during this period. The last match they won against Sporting Cristal was in September 2007, with a 3-0 victory. That match was delayed due to a blackout on the field, and then continued to become one of the most exciting matches of that season, with goals from Ángelo Cruzado and the Colombians José Herrera and Johnnier Montaño.

Agenda lista

Sporting Cristal is in third place in the Apertura Tournament -with 16 points- and is the only club that remains undefeated (with four wins and four draws). Undoubtedly, a great present for Tiago Nunes' team. Especially because they are also competing in the Copa Libertadores (in the group stage). So, the mission in Rímac is to maintain the pace in the Liga 1 and arrive at matchday 12 at full strength.

In that sense, the bajopontinos will follow a training schedule in preparation for their next match in the local tournament. After a short break, the players will resume training at La Florida on Tuesday, from 8:30 in the morning. A day later, the team is scheduled at 3:30 in the afternoon, also at the bajopontina's home, for another training session; while Thursday will be a morning practice.
