Boca Juniors is still in search of a coach, as weeks have passed since the departure of Hugo Ibarra was announced. The football council, chaired by Juan Roman Riquelme, who is making the sporting decisions at the club, has more than three names to take on the position.

One of the options considered by the former Boca number ten is Jorge Almirón, who arrived in Ezeiza a few days ago, coincidentally when the Xeneize squad traveled to play the Copa Libertadores. 'Coco' is the most successful manager in the history of Lanús, having won three titles and could easily be ready to wear the 'Blue and Gold' shirt.
Another weakness in the management of the Rivera team is Diego Martinez, who currently coaches Tigre. With his current club, he won the 2021 Primera Nacional. He also achieved promotion with Estudiantes de la Plata in the 2018-19 season, so many doubt his ability to take charge of a big club like Boca.
Also, there are two coaches who are also in the mix, but with fewer chances than the others mentioned. They are: José Pékerman and Jorge Sampaoli, while they are favored by some in the council, not everyone shares this feeling.
It should be noted that at Boca they wanted Gerardo Martino for the position, but 'Tata' rejected the possibility, as he did not see good conditions to perform well in the role.
