Matías Segovia arrives at "Fogão" as an ambitious future project after dazzling in the U-20 South American Championship that took place in Colombia a few weeks ago.
"Today I have to say goodbye to a club that gave me everything, they helped me from the very beginning and I will always be grateful to all the people who helped me during these 13 years," said Botafogo's new addition.
"This club gave me everything and also helped my family from the first day we arrived, I will be grateful every day of my life," commented a grateful Segovia.
"Mati" also dedicated some words to the Guaraní fans: "Thank you very much to all the fans of Club Guaraní who always sent me encouraging messages, I will always carry this club in my heart and hopefully we can meet again at some point because I will always be proud to wear these colors."
The new "Fogão" player concluded his emotional farewell with the following words: "Thank you Club Guaraní for all this time you were with me and to all the people who always wanted the best for me. See you soon."
Segovia, who has played 43 games in the top category since his debut in Guaraní in 2019, signed a contract until the 2026 season with the historic team from Rio de Janeiro, where he will have as a teammate the Paraguayan National Team goalkeeper, Roberto "Gatito" Fernández.
The former Guaraní player will play the Copa Sudamericana with Botafogo. Although he has already played the competition in the "national phase" with the "aurinegro", Segovia will have no problem playing for "Fogão" since the competition's regulations allow playing for two teams in different phases.
