Anderson Silva out of UFC 198 due to injury

Earlier this week we reported that Anderson Silva is officially out of UFC 198 due to an injury, which also led to the withdrawal of his opponent, Uriah Hall. The company has recently expanded on the information regarding the Brazilian fighter's health on their official website.

The former UFC Middleweight Champion had a small, minimally invasive surgery to remove his gallbladder yesterday in Brazil. Currently, The Spider is resting and recovering. The expected recovery time for this injury is between four and six weeks.

The company's website also details that the fighter appreciates all the support he has received.

Unofficial sources report that Anderson Silva would be interested in fighting in UFC 200, which features a war for the Light Heavyweight Championship between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones. According to his physical trainer, Rogerio Camoes, before going into surgery, The Spider expressed that he would like to be part of the big event taking place on July 9th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

At the moment, the company has not confirmed or denied anything about this possibility.
