Milwaukee Brewers Infielder Luis Urías Placed on the Injured List
The Milwaukee Brewers placed Mexican infielder Luis Urías on the 10-day injured list on Saturday and selected outfielder Joey Wiemer from Nashville in Triple-A.
Before Saturday's game against the Chicago Cubs, Brewers manager Craig Counsell stated that they expect Urías to miss between six and eight weeks with a strained left hamstring.
"It's a solid strain in the hamstring tendon, it's six to eight weeks, possibly closer to eight, so it's significant," he acknowledged. "It's unfortunate, but we'll have to fill the gaps around him, hopefully we'll have him back in May or June."
INF Luis Urías placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to 3/31, with a strained left hamstring.

LHP Justin Wilson transferred to the 60-day IL.
Urías injured himself on the first day of the season with a 0-4 count. In 119 games last season, he hit .239 with 16 home runs and 47 RBIs.
Owen Miller, who has seen playing time in both the outfield and the infield, will primarily play in the infield in Urías' absence.
Wiemer will make his Major League debut on Saturday and is expected to start in center field and bat ninth. In 2022, he hit .256 with 21 home runs and 77 RBIs with Nashville and Biloxi in Double-A.
