Falabella, a leading department store company, has revealed its plan to carry out its first clothing exchange event. If you are interested in learning more details, keep reading to find out when and what this fair consists of.
The event, called "Trueque + verde" (Swap + Green), was designed with the aim of giving a new life to those unused garments, without the need to buy them, but through exchange. Sounds good, right? Especially because the fashion industry is one of the most polluting.
Don't you believe it? According to data from the Spanish Association of Social and Solidarity Economy Recoverers (ASRESS), it takes 8,000 liters of water to produce just one pair of jeans.
How will the swap work?
For the event, the company will set up a space in its stores where customers can come with a maximum number of garments per day. It is important to highlight that only garments in good condition and clean will be accepted.
Once received, the workers will classify them according to their condition and brand. Based on that, they will give you a number of points with which you can take another garment of the same value or save them. If you don't find anything you like, don't worry! We'll show you what your options are.
What if I don't like anything?
In this case, you could take your clothes back home or leave them and come back another day to choose new garment alternatives. It is important to note that footwear, underwear, uniforms, as well as basic and without any added value garments will not be accepted.
When and where will it be held?
This initiative will take place for the first time on Thursday, March 30th starting at 11:00 a.m. on the second floor of their store at the Jockey Plaza.
