Bad news for Racing Club after the 3-1 away victory against Union at Estadio 15 de Abril, in Santa Fe. Forward Johan Carbonero suffered a serious injury and will be inactive for six to eight months.
Racing Club announced through their social media that the studies performed on the Colombian player "revealed a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee" and that he "will undergo surgery on Monday, the 27th of this month, by the club's medical staff."
Carbonero lasted only 16 minutes in the match against Union and was replaced by Gabriel Hauche.
Tough news for the Colombian player who had been called up to his national team by Argentine coach Néstor Lorenzo for the FIFA friendly matches against South Korea (Friday the 24th) and Japan (Tuesday the 28th).
Paolo Guerrero sent a message to his teammate via Instagram: "Parcerito, I wish you a speedy recovery. Patience and good humor. Time will pass as always and I know you will come back stronger than ever, breaking records as you know how to do."
