Ancelotti's team couldn't even capitalize on the initial own goal by Uruguayan Ronald Araujo (m.9) when he deflected a cross from Vinicius, which could have been a severe blow for Barcelona, who had come out with much more bite and made Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois work more than his team would have desired.
