As part of the El Comercio Group, Hype was a finalist in the "best use of social media" category at the International News Media Association (INMA) awards.

INMA Global Media Awards 2023 have reached their final stage. Various international media outlets have been recognized for the exceptional quality of their work in news brands and the use of innovative tools for the audience. Hype, one year after its debut on social media, has been nominated as a finalist in one of the categories.

Hype is a digital multi-platform part of El Comercio Group that focuses on providing young audiences with valuable content on various popular topics on social media. Freestyle, video games, anime, series, movies, streaming, music, rap, kpop, and much more are some of the thematic pillars of the brand.

INMA Awards held the call for nominations at the beginning of the year, dividing all competitors into a total of 20 categories in over 40 countries, resulting in 198 media finalists out of 775 that will be evaluated until May 26, 2023, announcing the winners for each category that stood out throughout 2022.

"The Global Media Awards continue to shed light on the best our industry has to offer,” said Earl J. Wilkinson, INMA's executive director. "As shown in recent years, these entries serve as springboards for innovation worldwide. We are proud of the finalists' class for 2023. We are looking forward to presenting the awards in person in New York for the first time in four years.”

Hype as the best use of social media in the INMA Awards 2023

As an innovative venture, Hype was born out of the need for a digital media that brings together different communities that consume online content but do not have a consolidated offering in one front. Hype responds to this need for the integration of various topics of interest to centennials and millennials such as freestyle, kpop, video games, series, and movies.

Alongside brand ambassadors who are known to the audience, Hype has managed to position itself with a reach of 14 million with over 78 thousand subscribers on its YouTube channel, reaching over 73 thousand followers on TikTok with a reach of 3 million, and over 40 thousand followers and almost 7 million reach on and Instagram.
