Jean Deza's Disappointing Performance at Alianza Lima in 2020
Jean Deza was one of the standout signings for Alianza Lima in the 2020 season, and his arrival that year raised hopes among the white and blue fans of winning the Liga 1 title and competing in the Copa Libertadores.
However, it didn't take long for the 'Ratón' to be relegated from the first team due to several indiscipline issues, actions that triggered a free fall in the performance of the entire squad.
After several years, one of the players from that team decided to break his silence and speak about those days when Deza behaved improperly, emphasizing that the national player had to apologize to everyone for his off-field actions.
This revelation was made by Alberto Rodríguez, who stated that in the first scandal that happened with Deza, he mentioned that it was the first and last time because he was already taking care of himself to compete at the highest level.
"Jean Deza has a persuasive power that you believe. Once we were showering and I asked him how he was, he said he was fine, that he had to train in the afternoon, and I asked him when was the last time he wasn't partying, and he told me about a month ago, he said he hadn't been going out for a while, that he was taking care of himself," said Rodríguez.
Nevertheless, the 'Mudo' confessed that when Deza was seen again behaving unprofessionally, he and Rinaldo Cruzado confronted him in the locker room. "At 3 or 4 in the afternoon, Rinaldo called me and said, 'You don't know what happened... another scandal.' We confronted him, we were already upset because the team wasn't doing well. He said, 'Forgive me, uncle, I don't know what happened,' he said. 'What do you mean you don't know what happened, they put a blindfold on you and took you...,' I replied, people were fed up," he explained.
Alberto Rodríguez's Opinion of Jean Deza
Despite all this, Alberto Rodríguez made it clear that he has a lot of respect for Jean Deza, but he also emphasized that these kinds of actions don't help him or Peruvian football to grow professionally. "My little brother, I love you very much, but you've had these things that haven't helped you or Peruvian football, you still have your chances," he concluded.
