A new match of the 2023 Torneo Apertura in Liga 1 has been suspended. This was announced by the FPF through a statement, where they informed that the match between Cienciano and Alianza Atlético de Sullana will not be played this Sunday due to television issues.

"Regarding matchday 7 of the 2023 Liga 1 edition, the Peruvian Football Federation informs the general public as follows: The FPF sent a letter to Club Cienciano del Cusco requesting that they allow the access of cameras and operators from 1190 Sports, with the necessary facilities and security, for the transmission of the match against Alianza Atlético de Sullana," the statement said.

"Club Cienciano did not respond to said letter within the indicated timeframe in the document and despite the opening granted during the day by the FPF for them to show an official response, they also did not show willingness to provide the guarantees for the correct development and transmission of the match," adds the FPF document.

"The FPF confirms its refusal to allow the broadcaster and the transmission of Liga 1 Max, a signal accredited by the FPF. In this sense, and in line with current regulations, the FPF has made the decision to reschedule the match between Club Cienciano and Alianza Atlético de Sullana, corresponding to matchday 7 of the Liga 1 Apertura, in order to preserve the integrity and safety of the attendees. The new date and time of the match will be communicated in the coming days," emphasizes the statement.

Cienciano del Cusco also issued a statement in response to the Peruvian Football Federation's decision, rejecting the measure taken by the governing body of national football.

"... we reject the irregular, illegal, and arbitrary behavior that the Peruvian Football Federation has been adopting against our institution, and against other professional football clubs, by attempting to force us to allow the entry of the company 1190 Sports, a company with which we have no commercial relationship and also the contract that said company maintains with the FPF is unknown," says the Cienciano document.
