This regulation aims to authorize in an extraordinary and optional way the withdrawal of accumulated funds in individual accounts of the AFP. The measure was presented by Digna Calle Lobatón, a member of the Podemos Perú party.
AFP 2023: Has the bill been approved yet?
So far, the bill has not yet entered into debate and approval is expected for affiliates to be able to withdraw up to 19,800 soles. The congresswoman has urged the Congress's Economy Committee to prioritize the bill as a matter of urgency.
"The Congress has the opportunity to help families' economy by approving a new withdrawal of their AFP funds. That's why I have asked the Economy Committee to prioritize the opinion of my bill", stated the congresswoman on her official social media.
On the other hand, the Minister of Economy, Alex Contreras, asked the Congress to prioritize the pension system reform proposed by the Executive before a new withdrawal from the AFP.
