In Peru, the 2022 women's football tournament ended on October 6, with the back-to-back championship of Alianza Lima. Almost five months have passed since then and the clubs are still working towards the start of the next edition of the Women's League. And although there is no confirmed fixture yet, there is a scheduled date for the start of the championship.
As planned, the 2023 Women's League will take place between April and September. Although the initial intention was to start in mid-March, it was ultimately determined that it will begin in the early fourth month of the year. The champion team would have less than a month of preparation for the next edition of the Copa Libertadores, scheduled to take place from October 5 to 21 in Colombia.
The exact start date of the Peruvian tournament is Saturday, April 1. And the idea is that, except for the FIFA dates, it will take place continuously from Friday to Sunday. Additionally, it will be broadcasted by Nativa, as confirmed by the mentioned media outlet on March 8.
The participating clubs are waiting for the fixture to be defined in order to plan the first matchday, although it has been rumored that the draw will take place on March 14. Like last year, the women's football tournament will be held in a decentralized manner.
