Canelo Álvarez fight confirmed in Jalisco in May 2023
The celebrations for the 200 years of Jalisco as a free and sovereign state will feature the Jalisco boxer.
This was announced by Governor of Jalisco Enrique Alfaro in a video on his social media platforms, where he stated that the greatest Mexican boxer of all time will join the celebration commemorating Jalisco's fight for Federalism in 1823.
"In 2023, Jalisco celebrates 200 years of freedom and sovereignty, two centuries of a history of struggle written by women and men who gave direction to our nation. Today we want to honor our past through those who bring honor to the name of Jalisco in the present," said the Governor of Jalisco.

Meanwhile, Canelo Álvarez said that he is ready to celebrate the greatness of our land with the people of Jalisco. "I am ready to return to my home and defend my titles in the place where I was born and where my story began, with the people who have always supported me."
