What is inherited is not stolen. Last Thursday, Joao Mendes de Assis Moreira, son of the legendary Ronaldinho, made his debut in Barcelona's reserve team against Manchester United.
The friendly match took place behind closed doors at the Joan Gamper Sports City as preparation for the UEFA Youth League round of 16 match against AZ Alkmaar on March 1.
The 17-year-old young prospect was present in the squad during Barcelona's 3-1 victory over the Red Devils. Toby Collyer, own goal, Marc Guiu, and Lamine Yamal were the ones who secured victory for Barcelona.
"The pressure on the boy is very high because Ronaldinho has been one of the best in history. The son is under pressure, but it is the job of our coaches to develop his skills," said Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, after his recent incorporation.
