Although the 2023 Women's League does not have a start date yet, different clubs are already making moves to have their squads ready when it is announced. Universitario de Deportes is one of them. In fact, the club has officially announced a new foreign reinforcement this Friday.
Her name is Karent Balcázar, a 28-year-old defender who can play both as a left back and a center back. She is Colombian and comes from Atlético Bucaramanga. Her agreement is for the entire season.
As detailed by Universitario de Deportes on their website, in 2016, the 'cafetera' played the Copa Libertadores with Generaciones Palmiranas. In addition, she has worn the shirts of Cortulua, América de Cali, Millonarios, and Bucaramanga, where she was the captain in 2022.
"We reinforce the crema defense. Karent Balcázar is a merengue. Let's give it all in 2023," wrote the 'U' in the welcome post. They also shared an image of the Colombian defender already training with the crema uniform at VIDU.
