Paolo Guerrero presented as the new player of Racing Club
Paolo Guerrero was presented today as the new player of Racing Club in Argentina after successfully passing the medical exams. The contract is for the entire 2023 season. In response, the doctor from his former club, Avaí, dared to give a report on his time at the Brazilian team.
Guerrero's time at Avaí FC
The doctor from Avaí FC, Luis Fernando Funchal, started by saying that the former Peruvian international is recovered from any injury, however, his physical condition is not optimal. "Paolo Guerrero is fine, the discomfort he had is completely treated," he said.
As you know, Paolo Guerrero could not score a single goal with Avaí and only played 10 matches in Brazilian football. "Guerrero cannot play 90 minutes and that is because of his age. I think he is a player capable of playing a maximum of 60 minutes," he said for El Comercio.
The doctor also admitted that Avaí could not take advantage of Paolo Guerrero due to his physical disadvantage, ending his stint in the Serie A very poorly. "In Brazil, we didn't know how to use him correctly," he said.
Paolo Guerrero passes medical exams
Jose Paolo Guerrero passed the medical tests on Tuesday, January 24 and was officially announced as the new player of Racing Club de Avellaneda. The 'Depredador' will have to compete for a place in the forward line with Maximiliano Romero, Gabriel Hauche, and Nicolás Reniero.
"I am physically well. My last match was in October because the Brasileirao finished in November due to the World Cup. I stopped training because everyone went on vacation and unfortunately, Peru did not qualify for Qatar. I just need to get in shape to play, that is not a problem," said Guerrero after passing the medical tests.
Paolo Guerrero's salary
The Peruvian forward, Paolo Guerrero, signed a productivity contract. This means he will only be paid if he is fit to play. It is rumored that he will only receive a monthly salary of 10,000 dollars, excluding bonuses.
