David Ospina unable to finish the match
On Saturday, January 14, in a match valid for the Saudi Professional League, David Ospina did not finish the game against Al-Shabab, which ended in a goalless draw. The goalkeeper suffered a harsh blow in the final minutes, leaving him lying on the field and needing to be taken away in an ambulance.
After the match, it was revealed that the goalkeeper fell on his arm while going for a ball in the air and suffered a fracture in one of the bones in his elbow, sidelining him from the game for about six weeks.
In a remarkable gesture, the Colombian goalkeeper decided to terminate his contract so that Al-Nassr could register a foreign goalkeeper as his replacement, after learning that his absence will be lengthy. This was revealed by Arab journalist Tariq Saad from the media outlet Kooora.
"As a token of appreciation for this behavior, the management promised him that all rewards would include him as if he were with the team," added the aforementioned sports journalist.
