In the preview of the match between Real Madrid vs Barcelona for the Spanish Super Cup final, Frenchman Karim Benzema spoke with the press, but avoided commenting on what happened with France during the World Cup, stating that it is already part of a "difficult past", but he is focused on "tomorrow's match (Sunday)".

"What happened is already in the past. The most important thing is tomorrow's match. I'm ready. I'm focused on tomorrow's match and the rest is in the past, complicated, but it's over. I'm focused on my role," he said in a press conference.

"That's not tomorrow's topic, sorry; I can't talk more about France and the World Cup. If you ask me about tomorrow's match, I can answer, but not about the other stuff," he added.
