Nikki Bella Puts a Date on Her Return

The latest updates on Nikki Bella's health status have been at an impasse, since, to the surprise of fans, her appearance on the last Monday Night Raw before WrestleMania 32 was canceled. SUPER FIGHTS has already reported that a significant medical reason caused her absence: any physical contact would result in a setback in her health. This information, combined with the already known fact that she could never return to full-time fighting, even put the possibility of following in her sister Brie's footsteps on the table, and finally forced her into retirement.

At WrestleMania 32 we were able to see her back in the ring, although only to embrace her little sister after the victory of the Total Divas Team. The ominous predictions, then, seemed to make a lot of sense, as she never actively intervened during the match. After that image, many even expected a joint retirement of both twins, but nothing else happened. The future of the wrestler with the longest reign in the history of the Divas Championship was in limbo.

Last Friday, as has become usual since her injury, it was Nikki herself who wanted to shed some light. In a video posted on the Facebook account of the reality show Total Divas, John Cena's current partner dared to give a date for her return:

"Right now, I hope to make my return in the summer. In June or July, I will have the last scan of my neck, and if my bone has fused in my neck, it would mean that I could come back and fight, and I can't wait."

Various media outlets like Cageside Seats, however, believe that such statements are too encouraging. Remember that since October of last year, the Californian has been struggling with this condition. Eight months to solve a bulge in her cervical discs would be a very quick recovery, not even within reach of the miraculous recoveries that Cena's physique exudes.

Many things have changed in the company in the last few months in the women's division. The Divas Revolution has reached its peak, with the prominence of three women who define the spirit of the new WWE Women's Championship: Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Becky Lynch. Would Nikki Bella have her place, perhaps the last representative of the Diva concept?

What is clear is that her retirement from professional wrestling will not be her decision at this time, as it seems she has accepted that her role in the future would not be the same. If the results in June or July are not positive and she ends up hanging up her boots, it will be solely due to manifest incapacity.
