The footballer Dani Alves will have to face a sexual assault complaint after the head of the 15th Instruction Court of Barcelona opened proceedings to investigate an accusation of inappropriate touching by the Brazilian national team player towards a woman in a nightclub in the city. The incident is said to have taken place between the night of December 30 and 31, 2022 at the exclusive Sutton nightclub.
The complainant, who formalized the accusation on January 2, reported that she was with some friends at the time of the incident, whom she immediately informed the security personnel of the place. After the respective protocol was activated, the Mossos d'Esquadra took the woman's statement.
On the other hand, the full-back posted a video to deny the accusation. "First of all, I would like to deny everything. Yes, I was in that place, with more people, enjoying myself. And those who know me know I love to dance. I was dancing and enjoying myself without invading the space of others," he said.

"I don't know who that young lady is. You walk into a bathroom and you don't have to ask who's in there. I have never invaded someone's space. How could I do that with a woman or a girl? No, God forbid. They are causing harm, especially to my people, to my loved ones. They know who I am," said the Canarinha national team player.
While preparing to face this legal process, the former FC Barcelona player is in Mexico with Pumas de la UNAM, his current team. Last Sunday, he played the second half of the match against Juarez for Matchday 1 of Liga MX.
