Jose Luis Mendilibar presented as Eibar's new coach

More than a month after the end of the league in the top tier, and after making official this morning the termination of Gaizka Garitano's contract with the club, the Board of Directors presided over by Alex Aranzábal has announced that José Luis Mendilibar will be presented as the new inhabitant of the Ipurua bench tomorrow at noon.

Mendilibar returns to Eibar

The Zaldibar coach, who arrives in the Guipuzcoan town with his assistant, Iñaki Bea, and his trusted physical trainer, Toni Ruiz, will begin his second stage at Eibar after already being in charge of the club in the 2004-2005 season, a season in which he came very close to achieving promotion to the top tier.

Contract termination

With the club's survival in the top division (a fact not yet confirmed by the TAD), the working relationship between the entity and Gaizka Garitano allowed for the possibility of one more year, however, after an agreement between the parties, it has finally come to an end.

"A cycle is coming to an end in which the figure of the coach from Derio has been fundamental, therefore, the club wants to publicly thank all the effort made to bring the team to the top tier. An achievement that is already part of the history of Eibar and the city and for which SD Eibar will always be grateful," said sources from the club.

New sponsor: AVIA

After the breakdown of relations between Hierros Servando and SD Eibar, the club has signed an important sponsorship agreement with the oil operator. Starting tomorrow, the front of the blue and red shirt will feature the AVIA logo, which will become the main brand in the team's sportswear for the 2015-2016 season.

"The addition of this sponsorship represents a substantial improvement in economic terms" for the club, as stated by the communication department of the institution.
