Next month, in February, the United States government is preparing a new stimulus check of up to $600 dollars, with the aim of helping residents cope with high inflation.
The prices of products have skyrocketed in the last year and it seems that inflation will not decrease as soon as expected, so these bonds are of great help to the population.
Which states will receive this economic support?
A total of four US cities will receive this stimulus payment, each of them being from a different state and having a different set of qualification rules.
- Idaho
In this city, residents will be offered a one-time payment of $600 dollars to be sent in February. This amount was initially approved in September 2022, when the state allocated a package to reduce the record budget surplus and cut taxes within the state. It is worth mentioning that payments will continue to be made until March.
- Massachusetts
In December, the second phase of the universal basic income program was launched in the city of Chelsea.
- California
They are also offering payments of $400 dollars to residents of Coachella and the assistance is intended for 140 families over the next two years.
- Virginia
The city of Alexandria is making payments of $400 dollars for two years, and they will begin next month in February. This city is allocating money as part of the Recurring Income for Success and Equity program.
There will be 170 beneficiaries selected for an initiative that will allow them to use the money in any way they deem appropriate. It is worth noting that payments will start in January and some people may be eligible for a tax refund of up to $700 dollars.
