The coach gave a press conference one day before facing France in the semi-finals of Qatar 2022.
Morocco faces the World Cup semi-finals against France "recovered and without casualties", said their ambitious coach Walid Regragui in a press conference, who wants to "win the World Cup".
"We have many players with injuries, but we recovered well, we have a high-level medical team, we receive good news every day," explained the coach in a press conference.
"We wait until the last minute to make a decision. But no one is 'out' or 'in'. We will put the best possible team, with players at 100%," said the French-born coach, without offering more details about the physical condition of his players.
The central defenders Nayef Aguerd and Romain Saiss are doubtful for the first semi-final of a World Cup played by an African team. The first player missed the quarter-final against Portugal (1-0), replaced by Jawad el Yamiq, and the second, the captain, left the field on a stretcher after 55 minutes.
Throughout their historic journey in Qatar, the 'Lions of the Atlas' have had to survive with different injuries.
The left-back of Bayern Munich, Noussair Mazraoui, also missed the Portugal match, but he should be available on Wednesday.
Achraf Hakimi, the right wing-back, has played with physical problems since the beginning of the tournament, which has not prevented him from shining.
Regragui also spoke about the motivation of his players on a historic day. "I told the players: if they are happy to reach the semi-finals and think that whatever happens, we have made the World Cup, I don't believe it. We want to win the World Cup," he emphasized.
"We are an ambitious team, we are hungry, will it be enough? It can be, a good mood is the most important thing in football," continued the Moroccan coach.
Furthermore, Regragui assured that his players are confident in victory and willing to rewrite history, to place Africa at the top of world football. "We will fight tomorrow to go further," he stressed.
For Africa
As for their opponent, the coach described them as "the best team in the world", although he affirmed that he will have to deploy his best weapons to win the match.
"We will play as we always do... Winning with minimal possession is just one way to play. But I think the best coach in the world (Didier Deschamps) is on the other side, who has understood it for a long time. I am following the example of France in 2018, they understood it and exploited it. Against England (2-1 in the quarter-finals) they didn't have many opportunities and they exploited them," he continued.
"If they let us have the ball, we will have to use it. If not, we will have to play a great game so that they create as few chances as possible," he pointed out.
The coach also referred to the criticism of the media regarding his tactics. "European journalists criticize our style of play, I think they are bothered to see an African team playing like them," he added.
"We want to win for Africa, for developing countries in football. I repeat, we are not tired, tomorrow we will run, for Europe, for Africa, for the Maghreb, for our brothers in Sub-Saharan Africa, for all those who dreamed of seeing Africa in the final or in the semi-finals of the World Cup," Regragui concluded.
