Argentina vs. Croatia: Semifinal Match for the Qatar 2022 World Cup
Argentina vs. Croatia will face each other on Tuesday, December 13th in the semifinals of the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Both teams will be looking to secure one of the two spots in the final, and to achieve that, the coaches will have to plan this match very well. Precisely, Croatia's coach, Zlatko Dalic, referred to this.
Coach Dalic's Comments on Messi
In a press conference, the Croatian coach highlighted the good level of the Argentine national team and, above all, of Lionel Messi; however, he detailed some deficiencies of the 'Pulga' that could be exploited by his team.
"He doesn't run much, nor does he do it behind the ball, but rather waits and receives with all strength and energy (...) He doesn't defend and we must not let him receive the ball, because that's when he causes the most damage, since he has been the best player in the world in the last 10 years," he declared to the media.
Messi's Motivation
Despite the shortcomings highlighted in Messi, Zlatko Dalic affirmed that the level of the Rosario-born player has been increasing throughout the World Cup and that motivational factors could make him continue to show a better version.
"This will probably be his last World Cup and maybe his last chance to win a World Cup with Argentina (...) Surely the last defeat in Russia also motivates him, so we expect to face a very good version of Argentina," he specified.
