In a press conference after Croatia's training session, coach Zlatko Dalic spoke about Lionel Messi and confirmed that they will not have an individual marker for the number 10, but instead he expects a better reaction from his team.
"We will not mark him individually. We know how much he does, how much he likes to have the ball at his feet. The key to our defensive phase will be discipline. If we repeat the same as against Brazil, we have nothing to fear", said a confident Zlatko Dalic.
On the other hand, the Croatian coach was asked about the opponent in general and this is what he said: "I have to make a detailed analysis of Argentina because until now I had not been focused on them. But it will be different from Russia because that was the group stage and this is an elimination match. It is clear that we can expect tough work, we will have to enter the game very focused".
It should be noted that this match will not be easy for either of the rivals, as Croatia comes from being the runner-up in the 2018 World Cup in Russia and being one of the most combative candidates from UEFA, while Argentina arrives as the champion of America and the owner of the Finalíssima where they defeated Italy.
