Carlos Cuadras is just a few days away from defending his WBC Super Flyweight Title. His opponent will be Richie Mepranum from the Philippines.

Cuadras is going for his sixth title defense, the fourth against an Asian fighter, and the Mexican is happy with the way his career and power are rising, as he has shown so far, based on hard work and training.

That's why he is training at high altitude in Mexico City, to increase his stamina for the upcoming fight. And he is right to take it seriously.

Mepranum is a left-handed boxer who has faced Hernán Márquez twice and Juan Francisco Estrada once. He defeated "Tyson" once, but lost to "Gallo" by knockout.

So the Mexican style is familiar to him, although the Asian style is not a secret to Cuadras as he has faced 4 Asian fighters in title fights.

So it will be a good fight, a way for Cuadras to stay active while waiting for the mandatory fight with Srisaket Sor Rungvisai or the fight with "Chocolatito" Gonzalez to become a reality.

CMB Press Release

The undefeated Mexican champion Carlos "Príncipe" Cuadras, is very excited about the great opportunity that presents itself in his career; because on April 23rd he will be defending the WBC Super Flyweight title against the dangerous Filipino left-handed Richie "Magnum" Mepranum.

The "Príncipe" is focused at the Otomí Ceremonial Center, where he plans to achieve great physical condition thanks to the hard work coordinated by Alejandro "Tyson" Martínez and the physical trainer Miguel Mendoza, who have done an extraordinary job with the undefeated world champion who has not known defeat after 35 professional fights.

The former world champion Adrián "Confesor" Hernández, as well as two interesting left-handed prospects, help the world champion in daily sparring sessions, where the champion has been in great physical shape.
