No House Advantage World Cup Player Props
Cristiano Ronaldo Under 1.5 Shots on Goal
Our first World Cup No House Advantage player prop is in favor of Cristiano Ronaldo staying under 1.5 shots on goal. Usually, this is a prop you can count on with Ronaldo as he has put up 1.20 shots on target per ninety minutes over the last year. Nonetheless, over 168 minutes in Qatar, CR7 has only mustered up one shot on goal, giving him a lousy 16.7% SoT%.
Manager Fernando Santos has labeled Ronaldo as 50-50 for this contest, due to injury concerns. No matter how much Ronaldo might want a Golden Boot, he is way more important to this Portugal side in the knockouts. It would take a miracle for Ghana to overtake Portugal atop the group tomorrow which gives no reason for him to play. Even if the 37 year-old gets a late cameo, 1.5 shots on target is going to be a tough ask against a South Korea side that will be pressing for goals.
Son Heung-min Over 0.5 Shots on Target
Conversely, in the same match, ride with Son Heung-min of South Korea to get over 0.5 shots on target. Sonny is yet to put a shot on frame in this World Cup, but that is of no worry. Matchday 3 has been full of pure chaos so far and he is still their talisman up front.
The Tottenham Hotspur winger has averaged 1.58 shots on target per ninety in the past year, with a SoT% of 56.4%. Portugal are a side that does concede chances as well. Their average xGA over the past ten games is 1.01; while they defend those threats very nicely, they are still there for the taking.
As I explained earlier with Ronaldo, Portugal will use some much needed rotation here. It is the third full 90 these countries have played in just a week and half and their legs are exhausted. Portugal has qualification sealed and a group victory nearly signed, which should provide Son with the chance to play against some easier opponents. With South Korea on the verge of elimination, it is hard to imagine the winger not getting any efforts on target.
Noah Okafor Under 1.5 Shots
Our final World Cup player prop is for Noah Okafor to get under 1.5 total shots. Okafor has only played in 19 minutes so far at the World Cup and missed Switzerland’s last match against Brazil due to injury. Murat Yakin did say he was available for selection on Thursday, but if he will start is yet to be seen.
The young RB Salzburg player takes an average of 1.93 shots per ninety minutes. He is an aggressive attacker that many thought would shine in this tournament. Unfortunately, I think Okafor will have to wait a bit longer for his big moment. Like South Korea, Serbia are going to try to attack from the first blow of the whistle. When chances do fall for the Swiss, I see them going to Xherdan Shaqiri or Breel Embolo.
