The Qatar 2022 World Cup enters the third matchday of the group stage, in which each team will seek in a thousand ways to secure a spot among the top 16 in the round of 16. Prior to the match between United States and Iran, a certain controversy, typical of football, arose.

Both teams share Group B. While the Iranian team accumulated three points, the American team obtained two points that allows them to arrive alive to the last match of the group stage. This match will take place on Tuesday, November 29th, starting at 2:00 PM in Peruvian time.

What rule did the United States break?

The reason why Iranian media have requested the expulsion of the United States from the 2022 World Cup is because, through its social networks, the American team changed the flag of the Asian country, as they did not include the symbol of the Islamic country. According to FIFA regulations, this would merit their withdrawal from the tournament.

"According to section 13 of the FIFA regulations, anyone who offends the dignity or integrity of a country, a person, or a group of people will be sanctioned with a suspension of at least 10 matches or an indefinite period or any other disciplinary measure that corresponds," reads a fragment defending the Tasnim news agency from Iran.
