An ideal start had England in the World Cup after crushing Iran 6-2 at the Khalifa International Stadium for Group B, in a match where the 'Three Lions' demonstrated all their offensive power.

The Asian team could do little to avoid the rain of goals that was coming. The first blow from the British came at 35' with a header from Jude Bellingham.

With the score in their favor, the Gareth Southgate-led team took control of the game and at 43' they increased the gap thanks to Bukayo Saka. At just 21 years old, the Arsenal midfielder made a shot to the corner that was impossible to stop for the opposing goalkeeper.

Nearing the end of the first half, Raheem Sterling scored the 3-0 after receiving a great cross from Harry Kane, who not only stands out for his goal-scoring ability but also for his dedication to playing for the team.

The second half did not lack goals, as Bukayo Saka scored again at 62' to make it 4-0 for England with a shot to the far post.

Iran managed to reduce the gap at 65' through Mehdi Taremi, but the 'Three Lions' turned the engine back on and closed the scoring with goals from Marcus Rashford (71') and Jack Grealish (90') in that match.

Although Taremi scored again for the Asian team in injury time, it did little to prevent a resounding defeat that has Iran on the brink of elimination from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Harry Kane and company also became the team that defeated the 'Princes of Persia' with the most lopsided scoreline in the history of the World Cup, a record previously held by Peru after winning 4-1 against Iran in Argentina 1978.

After this result, England is the leader of their group and awaits their next match, which will be on Friday against the United States, where the UK team could secure their place in the round of 16.
