Ecuadorian and Qatari make friends after viral fight.

All was peaceful. A video went viral on social media showing an Ecuadorian fan provoking the Qataris by making a money gesture, surely demanding the disallowed goal at the two-minute mark of the opening match between Ecuador and Qatar.

This provoked an angry reaction from a local fan who shouted at him to be quiet. The reactions on social media were not long in coming, however, both protagonists of the viral video came out to calm the waters.

The Ecuadorian and the Qatari appeared in a video shaking hands and sending a message of peace, after the match concluded with a victory for the South Americans with two goals from forward Enner Valencia.

How did the fight start?

The Ecuadorian National Team defeated Qatar by two goals and one of the Ecuadorian fans made a provocative gesture to a Qatari in the opening match of the 2022 World Cup.

In one of the stands of the Al Bayt Stadium, in Al Khor, 50 kilometers north of Doha, one of the fans of the team that is part of Conmebol made a striking gesture and the words 'money' were heard.

The provocative action of the fan making a gesture related to money generated annoyance in the Qataris who were nearby and did not hesitate to confront the 'Tri' fan for his attitude.

Ecuador beat Qatar 2-0 in the opening match of the World Cup

Ecuador was superior to Qatar in their debut at the Qatar World Cup 2022 and took home the 3 points by defeating the local team 2-0. Enner Valencia, first from the penalty spot and then with a header, was the author of the two goals for Gustavo Alfaro's team. However, the Ecuadorian forward had to leave the field changed due to an injury. Senegal vs. Netherlands face each other on Monday to complete the first matchday of Group A in the World Cup.
