In its world tour, the ballet "Swan Lake on Ice" has arrived in Lima and will offer a brief season of its beautiful show. The Prodartes company will present from November 12th to 20th at the Dome of the Arts (YOY Lima Box Park of Jockey Plaza) this adaptation of the Russian fairytale that combines classical ballet with artistic ice skating.
The cast of "Swan Lake on Ice," under the artistic direction of Ivan Sitnikov, includes three great stars from the famous Ballet of St. Petersburg: Yana Udaltseva ("Odette"), Ivan Mitlin ("Prince Siegfried"), and Ivan Balchenko ("Von Rothbart").
The plot tells the story of "Odette", a princess who turns into a white swan during the day due to the spell of the evil "Von Rothbart". The curse will only be broken when she finds true love. "Prince Siegfried" falls in love with the princess and manages to restore her human form.

"This adaptation is a free version of the Russian tale. Performing it on ice is a novel art for the whole world. It challenges the artists who have to dance, act, and synchronize all at the same time," says Oksana Kordiyaka, representative and coordinator of the group, in perfect Spanish to La República.
In addition to offering choreography with great artists from dance and skating, "Swan Lake on Ice" showcases beautiful costumes and is accompanied by a musical background with pieces by the master Piotr Illich Tchaikovsky.
"There are three versions of 'Swan Lake.' Ours is the best (laughs). It is a free version where truth and good prevail over evil. It is a work that invites the spectator to think about the paths to take in life, in their future. The play is directed at children, young people, and adults," says Oksana Kordiyaka.
In its tour of Latin America, "Swan Lake on Ice" has been performed in Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Bolivia, and now in Lima, Peru. The thirty artists that make up the cast are dancers and athletes of the highest level, many of them medalists and Olympic winners, "capable of impressing the audience with daring gymnastic routines, triple somersaults, deadly spirals, double and triple axels, and daring lifts at high speed." A show of strength, beauty, and harmony.
