F1 Stays in Mexico City Until 2025

It's official. Formula 1 will remain in Mexico City, with the contract being extended until 2025. And Sergio Pérez loved this news.

During the press conference, Red Bull's driver appeared unexpectedly and joined in the announcement of the news, happy to see the Grand Circus continue for three more years.

"First and foremost, good morning everyone, I am very happy about this great celebration, about what we bring to our country and what this event represents for our country," Checo began in front of the podium.

The Mexican driver pointed out that it was great news, especially considering the race where he is one of the favorites to compete for the sub-championship against Charles Leclerc.

"I am happy about the extension, that we are going to have many more years of this celebration. I hope it is an excellent weekend and that everything goes well," added the Mexican, who is expected to fight on Sunday to at least achieve another podium like the one in 2021. "The team arrives in a great moment and we hope that everything goes well, that above all it is a great event for our country and once again the event of the year in Formula 1."

This extension almost coincides with his stay in the top category, as he signed a contract extension after his victory in the Monaco Grand Prix, which will keep him in F1 until 2024. It is also worth noting the increased interest of the public in watching the races.

"My continuation in Formula 1 is very important to me, being able to come to my country, being able to be with my people every year. What this Formula 1 Grand Prix has done has been very special and I hope it is for many more years and that tomorrow we have more Mexican drivers. It's incredible how much this sport has grown in the country," said Checo after finishing his statements.

After finishing his statements, Checo gave a helmet to Governor Claudia Sheinbaum and posed for the classic photograph.
