Tragic Incident Forces Suspension of Football Match

In the midst of a confusing incident, the football match between Universitario and Sport Huancayo had to be suspended after 31 minutes of play. The game at Monumental Stadium was stopped due to the unfortunate death of a Universitario fan in the north stand of the sports venue.

Fan Identified as Alvaro Cevallos

The deceased fan was identified as Alvaro Cevallos, a 21-year-old who had traveled from his hometown of Mala to support his beloved team. However, tragedy struck and he lost his life due to a cardiac arrest.

Friend of the Deceased Fan Shares His Story

Edson Pizarro, a DJ from Mala and a friend of the deceased fan, spoke exclusively to TeleDeportes and narrated the last hours of Alvaro's life. According to his words, Alvaro was a very enthusiastic and joyful young man, a staunch fan of Universitario de Deportes.

"He was very cheerful, very active," Pizarro said, also mentioning that he was a great dancer.

His friend pointed out that his love for Universitario was immense, despite previously being a fan of Alianza Lima. Pizarro also found it surprising that Alvaro never had any health issues or heart problems.
