They say that the dog is man's best friend and there are currently several videos on social networks that show the great loving bond that a person can generate with this type of animal.
Although dogs are very affectionate, they can often react violently when they see a vehicle like a car, a motorbike, or even a bicycle approaching the place where they are. Have you ever wondered why this happens? Do they do it for fun or to pass the time? Here in Líbero.pe you will be able to discover the truth about this peculiar behavior.
It is undeniable that dogs have a higher defense instinct than humans; that is why these animals are always willing to protect their owners and will attack without hesitation in the face of an aggression attempt. However, the fact that they bark at moving vehicles has a much deeper meaning.
What makes dogs bark at moving vehicles?
Dogs are very territorial and this makes them not want any 'intruders' to reach their domains. That is why when a motorcycle, a car, or a bicycle approaches their home, they will bark in order to drive it away from the place.
However, barking is not the only thing that dogs do, as they also chase the supposed invaders to definitively keep them away from their 'zone'. Seeing that the vehicles move away from their place, the dogs assume that their barking has been successful, so they will repeat this action constantly.
Juan Manuel Liquindoli, animal behavior specialist at Filosofía Animal portal, mentions that this behavior in dogs is something usual, so they should not be scolded for doing it.
"They should not be scolded or punished. It is recommended to carry out pleasant activities in relation to cars, for example, every time they see a car, they should walk beside it or play with it, thus transforming their state of tension into a state of well-being and positivity," mentioned the specialist of animals.
