Although César Ramos initially showed Aguirre a yellow card, VAR called him to review the play, so he ended up changing his decision and showed the red card instead.
After a few minutes, Hinestroza was taken off on a stretcher by the medical team of the home team and Estadio Hidalgo, causing concern among the Tuzos fans.
In the end, Guillermo Almada's team defeated Víctor Manuel Vucetich's side 5-2, who will have to plan a great second leg in the semifinals in order to aspire to come back and advance to the final.
