Last October 19th

The descent of the Carlos Stein club, the only lambayecano team in the present League 1, was consummated. The team led by Professor Javier Arce lost the category to Club Deportivo Municipal after a categorical thrashing, despite being the local team at the Jaén stadium (Cajamarca region).

A goleada

The Lima team scored four goals in the first half and the remaining 45 minutes were mere formalities. In this way, the northern region is left without representatives in the top category of national soccer.

Tournaments left behind

Tournaments that had the presence of Juan Aurich, Los Caimanes and recently Pirata FC are a thing of the past. The last time the Lambayeque fans did not have the presence of any team in the First Division of Peru was in 2018, five years ago.

Ciclón

For this 2022 campaign, the focus was on the 'Ciclón del norte', mainly due to the celebration of its centenary: the achievement of the promotion championship title was expected. However, this did not happen.
