Coincidences happen every day. Various television and streaming media outlets were responsible for broadcasting all the details of the Ballon d'Or 2022 ceremony. One of them was Ibai Llanos, who enjoyed the broadcasting rights through his Twitch account. The popular streamer had an interesting encounter with Florentino Perez, the president of Real Madrid.

During a live link with a reporter, the YouTuber and eSports presenter imagined he would be communicating live with Ronaldo; however, it was actually the president of Real Madrid on the other side of the screen. A bit embarrassed, Ibai could only say, "Why does he want to greet me? No, no, it was Ronaldo, Victor. No, not the president, it was Ronaldo."

Although the link had some technical issues, the person in charge of establishing the connection revealed what Florentino had said. "You haven't been to the new Bernabeu yet! You're just a Madrid fan in name! Florentino just told you that," he commented jokingly.

The Real Madrid striker was crowned the best player in the world on Monday, receiving the Ballon d'Or at the age of 35. The award, presented by France Football since 1956, was handed to him by his compatriot Zinedine Zidane.

The white forward, who had an exceptional season culminating in victories in the Spanish league and the Champions League, succeeds Argentine Lionel Messi, who won his seventh Ballon d'Or last season but was not among the candidates this time.

Benzema becomes the first Frenchman to win the Ballon d'Or since Zidane in 1998, joining Raymond Kopa, Michel Platini, and Jean-Pierre Papin as the fifth French player to do so.
