The group stage of the Dota 2 World Championship begins on October 14th. Three Peruvian teams will participate in The International 2022 and will seek to become world champions. How much money will the winner take home this year?
The tournament where the best Dota 2 teams compete is held every year. The prizes that the participants receive come from a prize pool, which starts with US$1.6 million and increases depending on the earnings of the Battle Pass. In other words, it starts with the same amount, but it doesn't always end with the same final amount.

How much money will the winner of The International earn?
Currently, there is an accumulated prize pool of over US$15.2 million as of the time of this article. This amount, as explained, will continue to rise and the winner will receive the highest amount. In previous editions, the winners took 44% of the total prize pool. However, in this edition, there will be 20 participating teams, which is 2 more than in previous editions, so the percentage they will win will change.

How much money could Peruvian teams win at The International?
Beascoast, Thunder Awaken, and Hokori will secure a percentage just for participating. In previous occasions, the last positions (17th and 18th) took home 0.25% of the total prize pool. In the 2021 edition, these places received US$100,000, with a total prize pool of over US$40 million.
Meanwhile, teams placed 13th to 16th in that edition took home US$600,300. Among the winners of this prize was the Peruvian team Beascoast, which will compete in the Dota 2 World Championship again this year.
