A penalty was awarded in favor of Tigres UANL at 85 minutes after a foul that Guido Pizarro suffered in Pachuca's area. Víctor Guzmán committed it.
André-Pierre Gignac was in charge of taking it and he didn't hesitate, converting the penalty into a goal with a right shot to the center of the goal.

Tigres advanced to the quarterfinals of Mexican football by eliminating Necaxa at the Universitario stadium, with a double by the Frenchman André-Pierre Gignac, the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León won 2-0 against the "Rayos".
On the other hand, Pachuca obtained direct access to this stage by securing the fourth place in the standings.
