The Puebla coach acknowledges that the demand against América will be extremely high, but considers his team capable of passing that test
PUEBLA -- Nicolás Larcamón, coach of Puebla, claims that "at this point there are no more excuses" and believes they are "capable of competing against América", after leaving Chivas behind once again.
"At this point there are no more excuses, those who want it have to stand up, excuses cannot be sought. Whether it's a few more hours or a few less, we are already focused, we will plan with less workload, more video analysis, tactical content. Not traveling is positive in terms of recovery time," commented Nicolás Larcamón, after putting an end to Chivas' aspirations in the repechaje round.
Puebla will face América in the quarterfinals of the Apertura 2022, with the mission of eliminating the best team of the regular phase. The series opens at the Cuauhtémoc stadium.
"Respect and learning is what we applied today, everyone gives you room for analysis, with América it was when the decisive stages began, the opponent pushed us to the limit, we faced national team players, we didn't give them any concessions, that is part of what we learned from the match against America, and now we have to work from that place and know that we are capable of competing," added the coach of Puebla.
La Franja seems to be the underdog against América, as the Puebla team advanced through the repechaje and the Azulcrema as leaders. Larcamón disagrees, "we are prepared for the test".
"We are aware that after overcoming a tough obstacle like Chivas, with outstanding hierarchy and players from the national team who deserved more than their results showed, now we face a team that achieved what they deserved, they were the most competitive, with remarkable renewal and hierarchy. I focus on us. The leaders and the demand will be extremely high, but we are capable of passing the test and competing. Sports is unpredictable, and we have that desire," concluded Larcamón.
