Chivas and Puebla faced each other on Sunday, October 9 for the MX League 2022 playoffs. The match took place at the Cuauhtémoc Stadium and ended in a 1-1 draw in the ninety minutes.
Puebla took the lead thanks to Martín Barragán in the 58th minute. Towards the end of the match, Carlos Cisneros (96') scored the equalizer for Chivas. With the draw, the winner of the tie was defined by penalties.

Santiago Ormeño was in charge of scoring the third penalty for Chivas, the score was 2-2. Antony Silva approached the Peruvian forward to intimidate him.

Seeing the scene, the referee approached Silva and Ormeño to talk. The forward ignored the goalkeeper's words and just grabbed the ball to proceed with his penalty kick.

After the whistle, Santiago Ormeño took his run and with a strong shot managed to overcome goalkeeper Silva. This goal meant a 3-2 lead for Chivas.
Despite Ormeño's goal, Chivas failed to qualify for the MX League playoffs. The final score ended 5-4 in favor of Puebla, with Jesús Ricardo Angulo missing his penalty.
