Ayrton Senna

Ayrton Senna would turn 56 today. The Brazilian driver who died on May 1, 1994 at the Imola circuit during the San Marino Grand Prix, was born in Sao Paulo on March 21, 1960.

Brazilian idol Ayrton Senna was Formula One world champion in 1988, 1990 and 1991 with McLaren-Honda, achieved 41 victories in grand prix races and 65 pole positions.

When Brazil with Romario and Bebeto won the World Cup in the United States on July 17, 1994, the first great tribute of the 'Scratch' - on the Californa stadium field - was for Ayrton Senna, Brazilian driver and idol who had died two months earlier after crashing his car into a wall at the Tamburello curve at the Imola circuit.

A banner with the inscription "Senna...we accelerate together, the Tetra is ours", was shown by the Brazilian national team led by Carlos Alberto Parreira, in which Taffarel, Dunga, Romario and Bebeto stood out. At the beginning of that 1994, the three-time Formula One champion, Ayrton Senna, gave an interview in which he expressed his desire for the Brazilian national team and himself to achieve the tetra-championship that year.

In 2014, on Twitter, the 'Phenomenon' Ronaldo remembered the Brazilian idol Ayrton Senna and shared a photograph. "Parabéns ao nosso eterno ídolo! Festa no céu hj! Happy Birthday" ("Congratulations to our eternal idol! Party in heaven today! Happy Birthday"). In the image, the historic forward is wearing a Brazilian national team sweatshirt in his youth stage.
